If i were a boy.
My dad always wanted a boy. He said that if i were a boy, he would treat me differently. But because i am a girl, and because i am the oldest one, i have to live up to a certain expectation. He compares me to other boys he knows in college and expect me to know what they know. I understand that i am suppose to be studying during a break but he expects it to be all day, everyday. I asked him if i could hang out with my friends and he said i can. But this morning at 8 o clock, he yells at me for hanging out all the time. Seriously? How often do i get to hang out with my friends? Then he goes on about not studying in the morning. Dude, I’m still in bed. I didn’t even brush my teeth yet. I understand that college is coming up really soon and that i should be studying hard for my SATs but a few days during a break… can’t you just let me be? The part that pisses me off the most is the fact that he wishes i was a boy. If i were a boy, he would let me do whatever i like. I have had this arguement with my dad many times in the past. Even though he claims that he has changed his views, i can see that he didn’t.
